On May 16, 2007, Embassy Suites and the Lance Armstrong Foundation kicked off a great partnership. LIVESTRONG Day is the Lance Armstrong Foundation's (LAF) grassroots advocacy initiative to unify people affected by cancer and to raise awareness about cancer survivorship issues on a national level and in local communities across the country.
The LIVESTRONG Challenge is the LAF's signature fundraising event. This series of walking, running and cycling events takes place in cities across the country, enabling anyone to support the LAF's mission to inspire and empower people affected by cancer.
As the exclusive hotel partner of the LIVESTRONG Challenge series, Embassy Suites will once again sponsor the Cool Zone, a 10-ft high water misting system that Challenge racers, runners and cyclists can cruise through after finishing the race and get a refreshing mist of cool water. Positioned at the finish line, the Cool Zone offers a place for Challenge participants to meet up with their fans celebrating their victory in the fight against cancer. Volunteers from Embassy Suites Hotels within each Challenge city will be on hand to pass out rally towels and encourage each and every finisher of the race.
Additionally, Embassy Suites Hotels make a sizable monetary and in-kind donation to the LAF through their sponsorship of the LIVESTRONG Challenge.
